ABOUT

Hunter Powell was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He was primarily raised by his mother, Cathleen Powell and father Mark Griffin until the age of eight when his father passed away. Hunter Powell attended The Wellington School in Upper Arlington, Ohio until he graduated in 2014. Hunter started his music career during his freshman year of high school as a disc jockey. After four years, Hunter wanted more out of music than just playing other people’s songs. Hunter used the money he made from DJing to purchase a home recording studio his senior year of High School. While still DJing on the side, Hunter released his first song “Can’t Sleep” in October 2013. Seeing people’s reactions to his music, Hunter realized he could pursue this as a career. He slowly turned away from DJing to producing, singing and songwriting. Hunter attended college at Wittenberg, studying music. However, he dropped out after one semester to pursue music with no distractions. In 2017, Hunter Powell created Hunter Powell Music LLC and hired his manager Mikhail Randall. In October 2018 Hunter Powell released his debut album titled “Distractions” completely produced and written by himself. In May of 2019 Hunter moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue to music full time. On August 23, 2019 Hunter Powell released his sophomore album titled “Brain Broke.” Also, completely produced and written by himself.
